Arts & Crafts Stickpin

Arts & Crafts stickpin with a small diamond. (J9078)

Arts & Crafts!

The Arts & Crafts movement created jewels of tranquil beauty that found inspiration in natural, organic forms.  The aesthetic goal was to follow the natural flow of a line or curve without undue embellishment or ornament.  This elegant stickpin with a small sparkling diamond is a wonderful example.  Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1900.

The Arts & Crafts movement overlapped the brief flourishing of Art Nouveau.  The two design movements inspired and influenced each other.  While Art Nouveau emphasized asymmetrical, dramatically flowing designs,  Arts & Crafts jewels tended toward symmetry and more tranquil curves.  Both found inspiration in nature.

Beautifully crafted, this stickpin is secured with a sturdy gold pin stem attached to the back.  The stickpin is unsigned.

Cost:  Although this elegant stickpin has sold,  you will find many more fine stickpins in the Antique Stickpin Gallery.

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is 2 7/8" long and weighs 1.9 grams.  The top measures  13/16" by  7/16".
