Laurels and Amethyst!

A rich purple amethyst sits between the soaring branches of a laurel wreath.  Below a small luminous pearl glows in a trefoil setting.  Created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

Hans Brassler was an imaginative jeweler known for the originality and artistry of his designs.  He often wedded fine gemstones with elements of Classical, Gothic and Art Deco design to create wonderfully imaginative stickpins and other jewels.

This stickpin is beautifully crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem and solid frame to protect the gemstones.  The maker's mark of the Brassler workshop, a double oval enclosing "14" followed by a "B", is stamped on the upper right of the back (see photo below).

Cost:  $625

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is 2 1/2" long and the top measures 5/8" by  7/16".  It weighs 2.0 grams.
