| The vibrant sapphire set in this beautifully hand-engraved platinum ring has a surprise. In sunlight the sapphire is a rich violet-blue color and in incandescent or candle light the sapphire's color changes to purplish blue. Known as a "color change" (or "photochroic" for you budding gemologists) sapphire, this beautiful gemstone is perfect for all occassions! |

The sapphire is held by three platinum prongs rising above the hand-engraved shoulders of the ring. The shoulders gently sweep upward and are slightly pinched inward, creating a cathedral-like affect. The band and setting of the ring are hand-engraved with a dramatic chevron pattern. In the shop we call this style of engraving "Woodstock's feet," because the pattern reminds us of the tracks left by Snoopy's friend in the snow. For an additional touch of elegance, the edges of the band and setting are finely milgrained.
 Viewing the ring from the side, you can see the symmetry of the design and the precision with which this handcrafted ring was created. Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference and the depth and crispness of the hand-engraving. All signs of master artisans who take great pride and care in their work. |

 In fact, creating this ring involved three different craftsmen, each an expert in his or her specialty. First, the basic form and shape of the ring was hand crafted by a master platinum smith who took special care to assure that the setting perfectly fit the sapphire. Next an expert engraver meticulously hand engraved all the platinum surfaces of the ring and milgrained the edges with a bead-like pattern. Finally, the sapphire was precisely set by a master gem setter.
 A truly fine jewel is as well made and finished on the inside as it is on the top. Viewing the inside of this ring, you can see the symmetry of the design and the care with which it was hand crafted. The underside is smoothly finished with a beautiful polish.
 As with all the jewels we create, this ring displays Bijoux Extraordinaire's registered hallmark ("BEL"). The precious metal mark ("PLAT") for the platinum is stamped on the opposite side of the band. These hallmarks are your assurance of beautiful design and superior craftsmanship.

| This engraved ring was hand crafted in platinum. The trillium-cut color change sapphire weighs 1.79 carats and measures approximately 6.7 millimeters along each side. The finger size of the ring is 6 1/2 and can be resized to fit most fingers. | ||
