Carnelian and Gold Cufflinks

Keller carnelian cufflinks. (J9110)

Carnelian Red!

Sultry red carnelians set in yellow gold cufflinks.  Striking colors and boldly cut gemstones were hallmarks of the Art Deco period.  These ruddy cufflinks blush with the inescapable charm of the era.  Created by Charles Keller in 14kt gold,  circa 1920.

The backs of the cufflinks are crafted in 14kt gold and polished to a bright finish.  Sturdy cross bars and decorative trifid (or fleur-de-lys) brackets secure the links on the cuff.  The closed gold backs help protect the gemstones.

The maker's mark for Charles Keller & Company (an elongated "C" surrounding "14" and followed by the letter "K") is found stamped on the cross bars.  Charles Keller & Company were makers of beautifully designed and crafted cufflinks during the early decades of the last century.
