Mandarin Secret Garden |
Vibrant orange Mandarin Garnets brighten this beautifully
handcrafted platinum ring. A Princess-cut Garnet, set in
a handcrafted 18kt gold bezel, glows like a fiery ember at the
top of the ring. The dramatic style of the engraving is
based on our Secret
Garden design. Flame-like scrolls are hand engraved along the shoulders of the ring, rising toward the center Garnet. On the sides and base of the ring we hand engraved three flowers and in the center of each set a small round Mandarin Garnet. This style of engraving is known as "relief engraving." In creating the ring the engraver meticulously removed small segments of metal to create (or "relieve") the pattern in high relief. The background was then given a stippled, pebble-like finish and darkened to highlight the design.  Along the sides of the ring, undulating scrolls twist and turn like leaves skipping in the wind. When designing a ring we like to make sure something beautiful and unique is seen from every direction.  The center Garnet is set within a yellow gold bezel that is low and close to the top of the ring. This helps protect the gemstone and creates a ring with a sleek, low profile. Also note the sturdy, thick band which ensures many years of lasting beauty and enjoyment. |

 Viewing the inside of the ring you can see the high craftsmanship with which it was made. Note the smoothly polished surfaces and the slight bevel of the inner rim. This assures that the ring will fit comfortably on you finger. A small flower is engraved at the base of the ring. Note the beautiful, rich detail of the engraving on the hidden underside of the ring. The sign of a true master craftsman is the care taken with the small details and the hidden parts of a jewel. |
