| A dark teal Montana sapphire with flashes of blue and green set in an elegantly engraved platinum ring. The sapphire is accented with ten brilliant diamonds sprinkled throughout the engraved pattern. The ring is hand crafted and hand engraved. |

| The Montana sapphire is held by four sturdy platinum prongs set above the beautifully hand-engraved band. The shoulders of the ring gently sweep upward and slightly taper inward, creating a cathedral-like affect as the ring rises to meet the sapphire. The top and sides of the band, as well as the cross rings of the setting, are meticulously hand-engraved with a chevron pattern. In the shop we call this style of engraving "Woodstock's feet," because the pattern reminds us of the tracks left in the snow by Snoopy's bird friend. For an additional touch of elegance, the edges of the ring are finely milgrained.
 Viewing the ring from the side, you can see the symmetry of the design and the precision with which this handcrafted ring was created. Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference and the depth and crispness of the hand-engraving. |

| The round Montana sapphire weighs 1.44 carats and is approximately 6.7 millimeters in diameter. The ten accenting diamonds weigh a total of 0.08 carats. The finger size of the ring is 5 1/2 and can be resized to fit most fingers. | ||

| It is common practice for gem cutters to heat sapphires to improve their color and appearance. You should assume that all sapphires have been heat treated unless the seller specifically guarantees otherwise. We believe the sapphire set in this ring has been heat treated. | ||

Montana sapphires have long been prized for their rich variety of colors. These American beauties were first popularized during the late Victorian era (circa 1895) by the eminent gemologist George Kunz. Mr. Kunz often collaborated with Tiffany and Company to create some of the most beautiful jewels of the Gilded Age. A wonderful example is an Iris Corsage brooch on view at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore. This stunning jewel is set with 139 Montana sapphires that range in color from cornflower blue to violet. |
