Natural fancy color diamonds are the exotic orchids of the gem world. And like orchids, fancy color diamonds are rare beauties of nature. Among the rarest and prettiest of the fancy colored diamonds (in my opinion) are the Purplish Pinks.
When I first saw the striking purplish pink diamond set in the above ring, I knew it was an exceptional gemstone awaiting an exceptional jewel. The color of this diamond marries the brightness of pink with the regal richness of purple. A hue reminiscent of early raspberries. An alluring color that is as beautiful as it is rare.
![]() An extraordinary diamond challenges you to create just the right ring to showcase it's splendor. As I played with the purplish pink diamond and worked with different design ideas, I envisioned a ring that would celebrate not just one diamond, but a collection of beautifully arranged diamonds of varying shapes. I am enamored with the exotic beauty of fancy color diamonds, but I also love the captivating brilliance of round colorless diamonds and the irresistible allure of unusually cut stones. Each of these examples of the diamond cutter's art would find a place in the ring design I imagined. The design concept began with a bezel setting for the purplish-Pink diamond, resting slightly above a sparkling halo of round brilliant-cut diamonds. Then I selected a striking pair of matched kite-shape diamonds to be burnish set in the flared shoulders of the ring. The three types of diamonds set in the ring create a beautiful balance of colors, brilliance and shapes. |

![]() As with all our rings, this ring was custom designed and hand crafted. By custom making each of our rings we are able to assure that the design perfectly complements the gemstones and that the gemstones are perfectly placed. There are no short cuts to creating a beautiful, heirloom quality jewel. As a final design touch we added elegant rose gold scrolls beneath the upper gallery of the setting. The purplish-Pink center diamond and rose gold beautifully contrast with the brilliance of the side diamonds and the cool white of the platinum. From whatever direction you view this ring you see beautiful colors, striking shapes and dazzling brilliance.
![]() The ring is as well crafted as it is designed. From the side you can see the sturdy settings that hold each of the diamonds. Also note and the depth of the ring's band throughout its circumference. The inside edges of the band have been slightly bevelled to assure the ring rests comfortably on the finger. This ring was designed and crafted to be worn for a lifetime and then passed from generation to generation. |
![]() The inside of the ring is signed with Bijoux Extraordinaire's registered Hallmark ("BEL") as well as for the purity of the platinum ("PLAT"). These marks are your assurance of imaginative design, beautiful gemstones and uncompromising craftsmanship.
