Oval Diamond with Pink Diamonds |

| A brilliant white Diamond, cool sleek platinum,
and six lush Pink Diamonds with brocade-like rose gold edging
are brought together in this stunning custom ring. What an
incredible combination!
The concept for this design started with our client's desire for a very special diamond ring with which to propose to his girlfriend. He had admired our Pink Fleur ring, but wanted his ring to be slightly small in scale and simpler in design. The result is the Pink Passion ring shown above, featuring a brilliant 1.3-carat oval Diamond complemented with a row of Fancy Intense Pink Diamonds. The ring is custom designed and hand crafted in platinum with 18kt rose gold accents. |

 The Pink Diamonds are channel set in rose gold along the shoulders of the ring. The edges of the channels are milgrained to accentuate the effect of the pink color and add a touch of texture to contrast with the smooth, highly polished surface of the platinum. At the end of the tapered rose gold channels we created a curved tip to follow the outer circumference of the last Pink Diamond.  Pink Diamonds are quite rare - one of natures true beauties. Most natural Pink Diamonds are found in the Argyle diamond mines of Australia, but can also be found in India. The Pink Diamonds set in this ring are from Australia. They are an incredible rich shade of pink and beautifully matched (which is no small feat for these rare gems).  This side view shows the smooth half bezel partly surrounding the oval Diamond; we left the sides of the bezel open at the east and west positions, and the first of the Pink Diamonds tucked just beneath the oval Diamond for a continuous layout of brilliant white and sumptuous pink. The walls of the bezel setting are polished with a bright shiny finish, further complementing the extraordinary brilliance of the oval Diamond. This view also shows the sturdy construction of the bezel setting, offering superior protection of the Diamond while mirroring the rounded shape of the oval. You can also see here the thickness of the band, along the entire circumference, ensuring many years of wear and enjoyment. This ring was crafted to be passed down from on generation to the next.  Of course the true test of fine craftsmanship is the view "under the hood." Notice the smooth, symmetrical under-bezel beneath the center Diamond, the crisp cutouts beneath each Pink Diamond (called á jouré) and the high polish along each surface and edge. Notice the crisp, even demarcation between the platinum and the rose gold metals. We also varied the shape of the windows beneath the Pink Diamonds just to be fun. At Bijoux Extraordinaire, our philosophy is that the underside of a jewel should be as nicely finished and captivating as the top. | The center oval Diamond weighs just under 1.3 carats and measures 8.9 by 6.1 millimeters. It is F color and VS clarity. The band measures about 5 ½ millimeters wide at the shoulders with a slight taper in width towards the base of the ring. The six natural Pink Diamonds are graded Fancy Intense Pink and weigh just over 0.50 carats in total. | ||
