Rainbow Hematite and Gemstones
|
A shimmering Rainbow Hematite set in 18kt gold
is the focal point of this striking ring. On each side of
the Hematite, we channel set a graduated line of colorful
gemstones, from hot pink tourmaline to velvety purple
sapphire and finally lush green tsavorite. The faceted
gemstones brilliantly complement the rainbow of colors displayed
in the Hematite. The Hematite is slightly recessed in a gold bezel with a double rim. We created a "shadow box-like" setting for the hematite to better protect this shimmering gem. The solidity of the bezel contrasts with the open look of the split band holding the faceted gemstones. The band and bezel are both brightly polished to match the sparkle of the gems. This side view displays the thick, sturdy walls of the bezel setting, creating a two-tiered effect, and the graceful taper of the band as it sweeps around towards the base. The thickness of the band at its base ensures a lifetime of wear and enjoyment. The underside of the ring is beautifully finished and polished. The underbezel beneath the Hematite is crisp and smooth. The channels beneath the faceted gemstones are symmetrical and evenly polished. At Bijoux Extraordinaire we believe that a fine jewel should be finished just as nicely on the underside as it is on the top. It is the little details that make a jewel truly special! All jewelry should be stamped with the maker's mark and the purity of the precious metals. This photograph displays our registered hallmark (BEL). The precious metal mark for 18kt gold is on the opposite side of the ring. These marks are your assurance of fine quality, heirloom value and imaginative design. |

Rainbow Hematite is usually found in Brazil as
thin plates that are often backed with jasper or other quartz
material to increase the gemstone's strength and
durability. The Rainbow Hematite set in this ring has been
backed.
Sapphires and pink tourmalines are often heat-treated to improve their color and appearance. We believe the sapphires and tourmalines set in this ring have been heat treated. |
