Fancy Yellow Radiant-cut Sapphire

| A year ago we created a hand-engraved
engagement ring for an engineer and a mathematician. The
ring, named Radiant
Synergy, featured a radiant-cut Yellow Diamond set
between two kite-shape diamonds. We liked the ring so much
that this year we decided to adapt the design and work with a
Yellow Sapphire. |

 The Fancy Yellow Sapphire is radiant-cut and weighs just under 4 1/2 carats. The Sapphire is natural and has not been heat treated. It is securely set in an 18kt yellow gold, double-prong head with engraved and milgrained sides.  To complement the brilliance of the Yellow Sapphire we set it between two sparkling seven-sided diamonds. Below the diamonds, the surfaces of the ring are richly hand engraved with flowing scrolls and flowers. The ring is hand crafted and hand engraved in platinum and 18kt gold. |

 Swirling scrolls flow gracefully along the circumference of the ring like waves gently rolling across the ocean. The edges of the ring and settings have been milgrained to create a small bead-like border. Hand engraving a ring like this requires an artist's eye for detail, a steady hand and several days on the jeweler's bench. |

 Viewing the inside, you can see the symmetry of the design and the care with which the ring was hand crafted. The underside of the ring is smoothly finished with crisp symmetrical edges and a beautiful polish. Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference. All signs of a master craftsman who took great care and pride in his work. At the base of the ring we set a small brilliant Yellow Sapphire in a hand-engraved radiant star burst. We love to add little hidden secrets to our jewels!  All fine jewelry should be signed by its maker and marked with the purity of the precious metals. Here you can see the precious marks for platinum and 18kt gold ( "PLAT" and "750" respectively). The registered hallmark for Bijoux Extraordinaire ("BEL") is placed on the opposite side of the band.  |

| The Fancy Yellow Sapphire is a radiant cut. It weighs 4.49 carats and is VVS clarity. The two seven-sided (heptagonal) diamonds weigh a total of 0.73 carats. The diamonds are E color with VS clarity. The ring is finger size 6 1/2. | ||

| Many Sapphires are heat treated to improve their color and clarity. This Yellow Sapphire is natural and has not been heat treated. The Sapphire was examined by the AGTA Gemological Testing Center and is accompanied by an AGTA Sapphire Identification Report. | ||
