Summer Solstice IV

This distinctive ring glows warmly like the golden rays of the summer sun.  The center stone is a square-radiant-cut Fancy Yellow Sapphire that is set between two sparkling trilliant diamonds.  We crafted this radiant ring in 18kt yellow gold and platinum.

The warm tones of the yellow gold beautifully complement the honey bronze color of the Yellow Sapphire.  The Sapphire is set with four sturdy yellow gold prongs that gently taper downward.  This design is based on our  Breathless rings which are quite popular with newly engaged couples.

The shoulders of the ring sweep upward and narrow as they approach the two trilliant diamonds.  Each diamond rests in a three-prong platinum setting that contrasts beautifully with the yellow gold of the ring.  The Yellow Sapphire is set slightly above the side diamonds,  so that the gemstones flow gracefully across the top of the ring.

Each of the yellow gold prongs gently tapers inward from top to bottom,   creating a graceful, elegant setting.  We also polished a spear-head point at the tip of each prong for a dramatic touch.  In creating a fine jewel it is the small details that make it an exceptional work of art.

This angle displays the tight configuration of the ring top and stones.   A trademark of our rings is the beautiful layout of stones and arrangement of the settings.   When you look at mass-produced rings in most jewelry stores,  the settings are boxy and generic,  often with unsightly gaps between the stones.

We custom build each of our rings to fit the specific stones so there are no gaps between the stones or settings.   The result is a smooth transition from setting to setting and a dazzling array of brilliant gems along the top of your finger.

Note the thickness of the band throughout the circumference and the strength of the settings.  This ring was crafted to last a lifetime and be enjoyed for many years.

The inside of a well crafted ring should be as nicely finished as the top.  Note the smooth, even windows cut out beneath the Sapphire and diamonds,  the seamless transition between the settings and the band,  and the graceful narrowing of the band as it approaches the side diamonds.

Measurements:

The Fancy Yellow sapphire weighs 2.13 carats and measures approximately 6.9 mm along each side.  The two trilliant diamonds weigh a total of  0.20 carat and are D color and VS2 clarity.  The ring is finger size  6 1/4  and can be resized to fit most fingers.


Gemstone Note:

It is common practice for gem cutters to heat Sapphires to improve their color and appearance.  You should assume that a Sapphire has been heat treated unless the seller specifically guarantees otherwise.  We believe that the Sapphire set in this ring has been heat treated.
