Tanzanite and Fancy Yellow Diamonds

| Our Cool
Blue rings have taken a new turn .... horizontal
that is. The couple for whom we custom created this ring
loved our traditional Cool Blue and Cool
Ice rings, but wanted to do something a little
different. They wanted their oval tanzanite to be set
horizontally across the top of the ring.
We said "No Problem!" and recommended that the tanzanite be set in a full bezel, because it is a softer stone. We then worked with the couple to select a pair of trilliant-cut intense yellow diamonds to complement the radiant blue of their tanzanite. Next, we worked with one of our master craftsman to hand create the ring in platinum. The yellow diamonds were burnish set beside the tanzanite. And, a platinum band was custom created to rest snuggly beside the engagement ring. |

| The smooth, high polish of the platinum presents a stunning, mirror-like backdrop for the colors of the brilliant gemstones. Alternatively, this ring could be created with a satin finish for a softer look. The matching wedding band is softly contoured so that it gently flows along the gemstones and the two rings fit flush together. If you prefer a diamond in the center, we can create a ring in this style with a half bezel set center diamond and accent it with the side stones of your choice. Of course, the ring can be worn without the band, if marriage is not on your mind.

 Examining the inside of the ring you can see the thick walls of the bezel that securely holds the tanzanite. Our platinum smith has polished the underside of the ring to the same mirror-like finish that graces the top. The true sign of a master craftsman is that he or she finishes the hidden parts of a jewel with the same care as the visible. Also note that the underside of the settings are symmetrical and smooth, and the joints between the settings and the band are seamless. |
