Art Deco Diamond Cufflinks
Art Deco Elegance II
| Art Deco cufflinks that sparkle with the
sophisticated elegance and geometric dazzle of a Busby Berkeley
musical. Quatrefoil centers engraved with a shimmering
wave pattern are surrounded by tiered borders that rise up like
steps. On one side a small diamond is set, while at the
cusps fluted "epaulets" flow downward like cascading
waterfalls. Milgrained edges reminiscent of miniature
footlights add a final touch of sparkle. An iconic example
of Art Deco design. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa
The backs of these cufflinks are as well designed as the fronts. Note the thickness of the edges and the sturdy brackets and cross bars that secure the cufflinks on the cuff. These cufflinks were created to survive the next 100 years as beautifully as they survived the last.
The cross bars are stamped with the maker's mark of Taylor & Company - a draughtman's "T" surrounded by "14" and "K" for the purity of the gold. Taylor & Company was founded by John Taylor in the late 1800s and created finely crafted, beautifully designed cufflinks and other jewels into the 1930s.
