Late Victorian Sapphire Cufflinks
Sapphires and Scrolls
| Elegant foliate scrolls frame raised gold
centers set with rich blue sapphires. The depth and detail
of the gold work is a testament to the craftsmanship and
artistry of goldsmiths during the late Victorian era.
Finely crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1890.
These elegant cufflinks are as well crafted as they are beautiful. The solid gold backs are finely finished and connected with strong lemniscate (elongated figure "8") cross bars and sturdy brackets which help protect the sapphires and secure the cufflinks on the cuff. The finest of details are attended to with gently rounded edges and smoothly finished surfaces.
During the Victorian era fine cufflinks were purchased as family heirlooms to be passed down from one generation to the next. This finely crafted pair will survive the next 100 years as beautifully as it did the last.
