The pattern of whiplash curves is repeated on the backs. This gives the links a finished look when they are worn on your cuff. Also, note that the backs are hinged (see below), so that putting on and taking off the cufflinks is easy. You won't need a personal dresser to help you link your french cuffs!

The goldsmith who designed and created these cufflinks is a master of his craft. He pays extraordinary attention to the details. For example, you can see (above right) that the hinges and tension plates of the backs are crafted in white gold. White gold is his metal of choice for the active, "working" parts of a jewel. Why? Because, white gold is more resilient than yellow gold or even platinum. It has more give and lasts longer. It is small details like this that make a fine jewel truly extraordinary.
