Elegant Engine-turned Cufflinks
Frosty White! |
|
The white gold tops of these cufflinks are beautifully engraved with radiating centers surrounded by elegant concentric oval borders with scroll edges. The engraving was created by a technique known as "engine turning" used to create intricate designs - sort of Spirograph for precious metals. The detail and depth of the engraving give these cufflinks a shimmering, frosty white appearence. Crafted in 14kt gold, circa 1920.
![]() The backs of the cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts. Note the sturdy cross bars and brackets that secure the cufflinks. The backs are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and polished to a mirror-like finish. Please excuse the dark reflections from my camera.
![]() The cross bars are stamped with a maker's mark, "T" over "H". Beneath the maker's mark is the "14" for the purity of the gold. Name: Frosty White! ![]()
