Brassler Citrine and Pearl Brooch

Brassler classic citrine and pearl brooch. (BR9670)

Classic Citrine and Pearls

A vibrant orange citrine glows from within a ribbon-tied laurel wreath framed by luminous pearls set in a reeded gold border.  This striking brooch was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold circa 1910.

The reverse of the brooch is as beautifully crafted as the front.  Note the sturdiness and details of the frame that protects the gemstone and pearls and assures the integrity of the jewel with the passage of time.  The design of the front is echoed on the reverse in low relief - an added touch of elegance found on some of Brassler's finer jewels.  Finally, a strong pin stem and an early safety clasp secure this brooch when worn on a lapel, collar or hat band.

Hans Brassler was an imaginative jewelry designer, goldsmith and artist who in the early 1900s created a special collection of classically-inspired brooches and stickpins set with beautiful gemstones and small pearls.  Brassler's work is striking in its originality and for his uncompromising commitment to beautiful design and fine craftsmanship.  The maker's mark of Hans Brassler - "14B" inside a double oval - is stamped on top of the clasp.
