Brassler Jade Stickpin

Hans Brassler jade triangle stickpin. (J9441)

Brassler Jade II

A nephrite jade glows with the dark green of the forest undergrowth in a golden setting of laurel leaves and tightly scrolled corners.  An elegant stickpin created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.

Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler who around 1910 created a unique collection of stickpins and other small jewels.  In his work he drew upon an eclectic variety of sources including classical antiquity (the laurel leaves), ancient civilizations, the Art Nouveau (the tightly scrolled corners) and early Art Deco.

This stickpin is beautifully crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem securing the jewel when worn.  The maker's mark of The Brassler Company (a double oval surrounding "14B") is stamped on the lower reverse behind the pin.

Cost:  $465

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is just over 2 1/2" long and the top measures 1/2" by  1/2".  It weighs 2.2 grams.
