Hans Brassler Jade StickpinBrassler Forest Jade |
A translucent green jade glows like a verdant
forest understory illuminated by shifting autumn sunlight.
The gem is set in a gold frame with stylized laurel leaves and
elegant C-scrolls. This evocative stickpin was created by
Hans Brassler in 14kt gold circa 1910.
Hans Brassler was a wonderfully inventive jeweler who created unique stickpins and other small jewels in the early 1900s. His imaginative work reflected an eclectic variety of influences including classical antiquity, nature, Art Nouveau design and early Art Deco. This stickpin is finely crafted with a sturdy gold pin stem securing the jewel when worn (see photo below). The maker's mark of The Brassler Company (a double oval surrounding "14B") is stamped on the lower reverse behind the pin. Cost: $465 |
