![]() Hans Brassler Peridot Stickpin![]() Peridot in a Pond |
A peridot floats above nested ovals reminiscent
of the ripples in a quiet pond after a small pebble has been
dropped in. The effect is somewhat hypnotic. This
beautifully striking stickpin was created by Hans Brassler in
14kt gold circa 1910. The stickpin is finely crafted with a solid gold back and sturdy gold pin stem securing the jewel when worn. The maker's mark of the Brassler workshop (an oval encircling "14B") is stamped on the upper left side of the pin stem. Cost: $525 Measurements: This 14kt gold stickpin is just over 2 1/2" long and the top is 7/16" by 7/16". It weighs 2.2 grams. Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler who created a small collection of strikingly beautiful stickpins and other small jewels in the years around 1910. He often wedded elements of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and classical design to create alluring miniature works of art. |
