 The backs of the cufflinks are finely crafted in 14kt yellow gold. Carrington & Co. was renowned for its craftsmanship and attention to small details as can be seen in the smoothly polished backs and the sturdy cross bar/ bracket linkage that secures the cufflinks when worn.
 The Carrington maker's mark (a squared "C" enclosing "14") is stamped on the backs of the cufflinks. Carrington was one of the preeminent makers of fine tuxedo and dress sets during the first half of the 20th century. The firm's cuff jewels were retailed by Tiffany & Co. and other carriage-trade jewelers of the day.
