Carrington Diamond Tuxedo SetCarrington Diamonds |
Sparkling diamonds in platinum settings
surrounded by mother-of-pearl engraved with radiating
zigzags. A further touch of exuberant elegance is added by
platinum borders with jazzy geometric motifs. This finely
crafted tuxedo set was created by Carrington & Company in
platinum and 14kt gold, circa 1925. |
The backs of the cufflinks and shirt studs are crafted in 14kt yellow gold. Carrington's renowned attention to small details can be seen in the sturdy cross bars and brackets that secure these cufflinks on the cuff, as well as smooth, polished finish the gold. Carrington & Co. was known for elegant designs, impeccable craftsmanship and the use of fine materials. (Please excuse the shadowy reflections in the photograph from the camera.)
The Carrington maker's mark (a squared "C" enclosing "14") is stamped on the reverse of the cufflinks along with "GOLD & PLAT" for the precious metals. Carrington & Co. was founded in 1900 and created some of the finest tuxedo and dress sets of the first half of the 20th century.
