The starkly elegant Art Moderne style of the 1930s created some of the finest cufflinks of the early 20th century. In this pair the cool brilliance of white gold contrasts beautifully with the metallic sheen of hematite hemispheres. An elegant study in white and gray created by Carter, Gough & Co. in 14kt gold, circa 1930.
![]() The backs of cufflinks reveal the care and craftsmanship with which they were made, as well as how well they have stood the passage of time. Here you can see the maker's attention to detail in the sturdy brackets and strong cross bars that secure these links on the cuff, the crisp, clean edges, and the brightness of the finish. The cufflinks are in fine condition only showing slight wear consistent with their use and age. They should survive the next 100 years as well as they have the last.
