Our Cool Blue rings have taken a new turn .... horizontal that is. This ring features a rich blue oval sapphire bezel-set horizontally across the top of the ring. The sapphire is accented by two trilliant diamonds burnish set in the shoulders of this handcrafted platinum ring.
If you choose this design as an engagement ring, a matching wedding band can be created. The wedding band can be contoured so that it gently flows around the sapphire and diamonds when the two rings are worn together. This is a slightly smaller version of our original Horizontal Blue design, so the band is narrower and less tapered. The smooth, high polish of the platinum presents a stunning, mirror-like backdrop for the colors of the brilliant gemstones. This ring can also be created with a satin finish for a softer look. If you prefer diamonds, we can create a ring in this style with a bezel set center diamond and accent it with the side stones of your choice. The oval sapphire is a natural color-change sapphire. In daylight the sapphire is a rich blue, while in candle or incandescent lighting the sapphire takes on a purplish-blue shade. With a its color change effect, this ring is ideal for both daytime and evening wear!
From the side of the ring you can see the thickness of the band as it tapers slightly towards the base. The quality and thickness of the band ensures lasting beauty and years of enjoyment.  Examining the inside of the ring you can see the thick walls of the bezel that protects the sapphire. Our platinum smith has polished the underside of the ring to the same mirror-like finish that graces the top. The true sign of a master craftsman is that he or she finishes the hidden parts of a jewel with the same care as the topside. Also note the symmetrical and smooth underside of the settings, as well as the seamless joints between the setting and the band. |

| The oval sapphire measures 6.9 x 5.3 millimeters and weighs 1.55 carats. The two trilliant-cut diamonds weigh a total of 0.13 carats. They are E color and VS clarity. | ||
