Sapphire and Diamond Ring

We call this style of ring "Hidden Treasures," because of two small diamonds and golden accents that are secreted beneath a beautiful sapphire.
The solitaire sapphire is set in platinum double prongs that gracefully taper towards the base of the mounting. The shoulders of the ring are gently scalloped to create a flowing surface that sweeps upward to meet the sapphire. We have created this ring in both platinum and 18kt yellow gold with a variety of colored gemstones and diamonds. |

 Here you can see the "hidden treasures" we added to the ring. Beneath the blue sapphire a small round brilliant-cut diamond is set between the upper and lower galleries of the mounting. One diamond is set on each side of the ring. The white brilliance of the diamonds is the perfect complement to the rich blue of the sapphire and the cool elegance of the platinum. If diamonds are not your first choice, we can set a variety of small colored gems. Perhaps sapphires, rubies or one the many flavors of tourmaline, spinel or garnet. We can even place a small gold or platinum heart, letter or other symbol beneath the center stone.
   These side views show the dramatic design of the ring. The scalloped shoulders sweep upwards to the center stone. For an added touch of elegance, the edges of the shoulders and galleries are milgrained with a beautiful bead-like pattern. To each side of the small diamonds, small circlets of 18kt gold are placed beneath the shoulders of the ring. The golden circles continue like a secret passageway through to the other side. It is these little details, the small accents and hidden treasures, that make this beautiful ring a unique jewel.
 The true test of a jeweler's artistry and skill is the underside of the jewel. The unseen underside should be as carefully crafted and beautifully finished as the top. Here you can see the care with which our platinum smith created the ring. The inner surfaces are smoothly finished with crisp, even edges and a sturdy setting and prongs support the sapphire and diamonds. Whenever you consider a fine piece of jewelry, always turn it over and make sure that the jewel is beautiful from all directions! Also note the thickness of the ring's band and the sturdiness of the settings that hold the gemstones. This assures that the sapphire and diamonds will be securely protected and the ring beautifully worn for many years to come. |

| The rich blue sapphire is brilliant cut with a step cut pavilion. This striking gem weighs 1.5 carats. The small diamonds set beneath the sapphire are 2 millimeters in diameter. The diamonds are F - G color and VS clarity. | ||
