Rose-cut Diamond Engagement Ring

| While searching for Rose-cut diamonds for a custom design, we came across this wonderful ring. Crafted in platinum, the ring is set with a beautiful Rose-cut diamond weighing 1.07 carats. The diamond has 40 triangular and trapezoid facets arranged in concentric tiers. Rose-cut diamonds are known for their scintillating sparkle as light reflects from their many facets.
 Surrounding the center stone is a sparkling halo of eighteen smaller Rose-cut diamonds. Hence, we named this ring "A Bouquet of Roses." The Rose cut is an older cut that first appeared in the early 16th century. During the Victorian era Rose-cut diamonds were very popular as accent stones. The romantic name no doubt arose from the cuts resemblance to a small half-open rosebud.
 Along each shoulder of the ring, ten Rose-cut diamonds are bead-set in recessed channels. The edges of the channels, as well as the other settings, are milgrained creating a raised bead-like pattern.
 In this side view you can see the beautiful symmetry of the Rose-cut diamond. The diamond rises above its tiered setting like the dome of the Taj Mahal or a Middle Eastern palace. Beneath the halo of smaller Rose-cut diamonds is a scalloped gallery. The rich details of this ring and the way the design complements the center diamond are what drew us to this jewel.
 The inside of the ring is as beautifully crafted as the top. Note the sturdy under gallery and the "windows" opened beneath each of the smaller diamonds. The inner surfaces are polished to a beautiful mirror-like finish.
