Pastel Sapphire and Tourmaline Ring
Winter Twilight |
| A pastel blue sapphire and green tourmalines
are set in this custom white gold ring. The ring has a
shimmering satin finish that reminds us of freshly fallen snow
in the wintry evening twilight. Hence the ring's name Winter
Twilight!
The centerpiece is a square emerald-cut pastel blue sapphire with beautifully beveled corners. On each side of the sapphire we set a trillium-cut green tourmaline. The gemstones are wonderfully aligned and burnish set for a seamless lay out.  For an added touch of brilliance, we burnish set three graduated diamonds beneath the shoulders of the ring. The ring was crafted to be a family heirloom offering many years of enjoyment and wear. Note the thickness of the band throughout its circumference, even at its base.  The wintry green tourmalines complement the color and shape of the center sapphire. By burnish setting the trillium-cut tourmalines we were able to protect the edges and points of the gemstones and place them tightly nestled along the sides of the sapphire. The result is a soothing trilogy of beautiful gemstones flowing across the top of the ring.  We crafted this ring with a beveled peak along the shoulders. The peak begins just below the outer point of the trillium tourmalines and flows along the surface of the band as it wraps around your finger. The beveled shoulders provide a continuation of the tapered line created by the gemstones, while adding a subtle contrast to the softness of the pastel colors of the gems and the cool, shimmering satin finish of the white gold.  An inside view also shows our craftsman's attention to detail. Note the thickness of the walls that hold the burnish set gemstones and the even, smooth inner surfaces. We believe that a fine jewel should be as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. |

| The square pastel blue sapphire weighs 1.00 carats. The two trillium tourmalines weigh a total of 0.46 carats. The twelve small brilliant-cut diamonds set beneath the shoulders of the ring are 1.75 to 2.55 millimeters in diameter. The ring is handcrafted in 18kt white gold. | ||
