Antique Amethyst Stickpin

Alling amethyst and enamel stickpin. (SP9229)

Amethyst and Enamel

An elongated purple amethyst set in a broad gold frame with neoclassical, white enamel accents.  This elegant stickpin weds the allure of amethyst and gold together with Art Deco flair.  Created by Alling & Co. in 14kt gold circa 1910.

Alling was a maker of elegant stickpins, cufflinks and other fine jewels during the Victorian era and early 20th century.  The firm was known for its imaginative designs and beautiful craftsmanship.

This stickpin is created with a solid gold back which protects the amethyst and enamel work.  A sturdy gold pin stem secures the jewel when worn.  The maker's mark of Alling & Co. (a shamrock enclosing a "14" and "A") is stamped on the lower back beneath the pint stem (see photo below).

          Cost:  $465

Measurements:  This 14kt gold stickpin is just over 2 3/4" long and the top is 7/8" long by 3/8" wide.  It weighs 2.8 grams.
