Striking Antique Enamel Locket


Antique Swedish locket with rich blue guilloche enamel.

Swedish Locket!
A beautiful locket created in a Swedish workshop around 1900.  The locket is decorated with rich blue enamels on both the front and back.  Beneath the blue enamels an intricately engraved starburst design creates a wonderful guilloche effect. The crafted is crafted of  830 silver with a gold wash.

Measurements:  This silver locket is approximately  1 1/8" in diameter.

Inside the locket are two small compartments for pictures or other mementos.  The compartments are surrounded by gold colored frames and approximately  7/8" in diameter.  No doubt this locket has served many times as a keepsake for treasured memories and mementos during the past 100 years.  It will serve just as well during the next 100 years!


Hallmarks on antique Swedish locket.

The bail of the locket is stamped with three crowns in a trefoil setting  -  the hallmark for Swedish jewels made for the local market.  To the left of the hallmark is an  "83"  indicating the purity of the silver.  And to the right is a partially obscured  "SA"  probably the maker's mark.
