Brassler Amethyst StickpinAmethyst Moth |
A jeweled moth or exotic winged creature
is crafted in gold and set with a vibrant amethyst and small
diamond. This insectomorphic (insect-inspired) stickpin
was created by Hans Brassler in 14kt gold, circa 1910.
Hans Brassler was a wonderfully imaginative jeweler/artist who in the early 1900s created a small menagerie of insectomorphic jewels. This elegant example features a purple amethyst set as the body between two wings sweeping downward along the sides. Beneath the wings the creature's legs cradle a small sparkling diamond. Finely crafted in 14kt gold, this elegant stickpin is secured with a sturdy pin stem when worn. The maker's mark of The Brassler Company ("14B" surrounded by a double oval) is stamped on the lower left reverse. Cost: $475 |
