Sapphire and Diamond BroochSapphire and Diamond |
A vibrant sapphire and sparkling diamonds set in a "trellis" brooch created by Hans Brassler. This brooch reflects Brassler's affection for imaginative, strikingly unique jewels executed with impeccable craftsmanship. Created in 14kt gold, circa 1910.
The care Brassler took in creating a jewel can be seen on the back of the brooch. Note the crisp details of the trellis work and the sturdiness of the bezels that hold the gemstones. The brooch is secured when worn by a sturdy pin stem and early safety clasp.
The top of the clasp is stamped with Brassler's maker's mark
("14B" inside a double oval). Brassler was an
imaginative jeweler who in the early 1900s created small,
finely crafted brooches and stickpins that are striking and
beautiful. Name: Sapphire and Diamond
