Carrington Enamel CufflinksCarrington Blue-Gray |
In the early decades of the 20th century,
Carrington & Company created handsome cufflinks decorated
with beautiful guilloche enamels. This elegant pair
features translucent blue-gray enamel laid over an intricately
engraved design of wavy pinwheels. Framing the blue-gray
centers are white enamel borders with golden edges.
Created by Carrington & Co. in 14kt gold circa 1910. The backs of these cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts. Carrington's attention to detail can be seen in the sturdy cross bars and beveled brackets that securely hold these cufflinks on the cuff. Also, note the gently rounded edges and bright, even finish of the closed backs protecting the enamels. The maker's mark of Carrington & Co. (a boxy "C" surrounding "14" for 14kt gold) is stamped on the cross bars. Because the tops of the cross bars are slightly rounded the mark is partially obscure.
