Carrington Jade Cufflinks
| Deep green, translucent jade set in
gold. These finely crafted cufflinks glow with a light
reminiscent of morning sunlight passing through a stained glass
window. The outer edges of the bezel settings are finely
engraved with a foliate-and-scroll pattern. Created by
Carrington and Co. in 14kt gold, circa 1910.
The backs confirm Carrington's well earned reputation for fine, uncompromising craftsmanship. Note the sturdy gold frames that cradle the jades and support the brackets and cross bars which secure the cufflinks on the cuff.
The maker's mark of Carrington & Company (a squared "C"
enclosing "14") is stamped on the crossbars.
Carrington & Company was a maker of fine cufflinks and tuxedo sets during the first half of the 20th century. The firm was known for its elegant designs, uncompromising craftsmanship and exceptional materials. Its creations were retailed by Tiffany & Co. and other carriage-trade jewelers of the day.
