Art Deco Equestrian StickpinTally Ho! |
An alert horse finely rendered in profile with
listening ears and a small red garnet set as its eye. This
elegant equestrian stickpin was created in 14kt gold circa 1925.
From the mid-Victorian era (about 1860) through the 1920s, equestrian and hunt-related jewelry was the sine qua non of the fashionable horsewoman or man. The rich, fine details and dramatic lines of this gold stickpin suggest it was created during the Art Deco era of the 1920s. The reverse of this stickpin is as finely crafted as the front. The back is smoothly polished and the edges crisply finished. The pin stem is attached to the solid gold back with a sturdy collet. The lower reverse is stamped with "14K" for the purity of the gold beneath an unidentified maker's mark. Cost: $425 |
