![]() Art Deco Sapphire Brooch![]() Sapphires and Filigree |
An elegant Art Deco circle brooch set with sparkling man-made sapphires. This finely crafted brooch features a web of intricate filigree work framed by inner and outer borders with stylized leaf-and-vine motifs. Created by Krementz & Co. in 14kt white and yellow gold, circa 1925. ![]() The beauty of the brooch is matched by the care with which it was created. The back is finely crafted in 14kt yellow gold. Note the crispness of the filigree work and the sturdy side walls that frame and protect the piece. The jewel is secured when worn by a sturdy pin stem and strong safety clasp. ![]() The top of the clasp is stamped with the maker's mark of Krementz & Company and "14K" for the purity of the gold. The maker's mark (just above the purity mark) is a stylized collar button, also sometimes referred to as a "moustache" or "double handled umbrella." Krementz & Co. was founded shortly after the Civil War and created beautifully designed, finely crafted brooches, cufflinks and other jewels well into the 20th century. Name: Sapphires and Filigree |
