Art Deco Zigzag Cufflinks

Finely engraved zigzags radiate outward toward
classic Art Deco borders. The jazzy warmth of the centers
is beautifully complemented by the elegant geometry of the white
gold borders. These miniature masterpieces of Art Deco
design were created by Richardson & Co. in 14kt yellow and
white gold circa 1925. The backs of the cufflinks are as well crafted as the fronts. The 14kt yellow gold backs are polished to a bright mirror-like finish (please excuse the shadowy reflections from my camera). When worn these cufflinks are secured with a sturdy bridge and stationary/hinged bracket design favored by Richardson & Co. One end of the bridge is fixed to the top while the other is hinged to ease the passage of the cufflink through a buttonhole.
 The Richardson Manufacturing Company, founded in 1840, was one of the earliest makers of fine cufflinks and jewelry in the United States. During the 1920s and 1930s the firm created finely crafted Art Deco cufflinks that captured the elegance and excitement of the Jazz Age. The firm's maker's mark, a fancy "R" followed by "14K", is stamped on the cross bars of the cufflinks. Name: Radiant Jazz!
