Elegant Classical Revival StickpinSwags and Peridot |
An arch with blooming roses festooned with
bell flower swags frames a yellow-green peridot. The
sultry green gemstone rests atop a column of stylized leaves
with scrolling ends. This stickpin reflects the elegant
Classical Revival style favored in the early 20th century.
Created by Whiteside & Blank in 14kt gold, circa 1910. The back of the stickpin is as beautifully and solidly crafted as the front. Whiteside & Blank was a maker of fine stickpins and other jewels during the late 19th century and the early decades of the 20th century. The maker's mark for Whiteside & Blank (an arrow piercing a crescent) and the gold purity mark ("14") are stamped on the middle reverse of the stickpin behind the pin stem. Cost: $435 |
