![]() Art Deco Sapphire Cufflinks![]() Sapphires and Garlands |
Sparkling blue sapphire surrounded by luxuriant
golden garlands. The neoclassical-inspired centers are
contrasted with white gold borders engraved with a repeated
dart design. An elegant example of Art Deco eclecticism
created by Ziething & Co. in 10kt gold circa 1925.
![]() The backs of the cufflinks are as finely crafted as the fronts. The surfaces are polished to a mirror-like finish and strong cross bars and brackets secure the cufflinks on the cuff. Note the sturdy "quad" brackets that protect the backs of the sapphires.
![]() The maker's mark of Ziething & Company (a "Z" inside a vertical lozenge) is stamped on the cross bars. Ziething was a maker of richly detailed, finely engraved cufflinks and other jewels during the Art Deco era. The opposite side of the cross bar is marked "10K" for the purity of the gold.
Name: Sapphires and Garlands
