Sapphire, Emeralds and Peridot

A client admired our Secret Garden design and wanted to create a special ring for his fiancée with elements that would be symbolic to her. We first helped him select a fine cushion-cut Sapphire, added two Emeralds and a small Peridot, and then created this beautiful ring. The ring is hand crafted in platinum and wonderfully hand engraved.
 The ring is richly engraved with flowing leaf-like scrolls. This style of engraving is known as "relief engraving." Our engraver painstakingly carved away small bits of metal allowing the design to emerge in high relief. The background was finished with a stippled, pebble-like pattern and darkened to further highlight the design.
 We work with some of the finest hand engravers in the world. Each engraver works in a unique style and is a master of his/her craft. Their artistry is reflected in our rings.
 A small rosebud is engraved on the outer walls of the bezel setting, while the flowing leaf design is repeated along the sides of the ring. Note the sturdy thickness of the band throughout it circumference, ensuring many years of lasting beauty and enjoyment. This ring was made to last several generations and become a family heirloom. |

 Examining the inside of the ring you can see the mastery of the craftsmanship. The different parts of the ring are beautifully crafted and flow together. The inner surfaces are smooth and even. An engraved flower is hidden at the base of the ring and set with a small Peridot. The true sign of a master jeweler is the care taken with the small details and the hidden parts of a ring. |

 As with all the jewels we create, this ring displays Bijoux Extraordinaire's registered hallmark ("BEL"). The precious metal mark for platinum ("PLAT") is also visible. | The cushion-shape Sapphire weighs just over 2.25 carats and measures approximately 7.2 by 6.9 millimeters. The two Emeralds are approximately 1.8 millimeters in diameter. | ||
